Uniting Against Poverty in Allegany County.
Who we are
ACCORD Corporation, a long-standing 501(c)(3) non-profit Community Action Agency (CAA) since 1972 (over five decades), is dedicated to delivering a comprehensive range of pivotal initiatives for low- and moderate-income individuals. Operating under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, which is part of America's War on Poverty, ACCORD Corporation plays a crucial role in combating poverty. Annually securing approximately $7 million in grants, our commitment in Allegany County extends to a broad spectrum of efforts designed to make a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve.
Our services encompass critical basic needs assistance, including emergency and supplemental food, utility arrears aid, household items, personal care items, transportation support (gas or bus cards), assistance for those experiencing domestic violence, housing aid for the homeless or at-risk, support with rental costs for low-income families, homebuyer and homeowner assistance, Head Start and Early Head Start programs, child care support for both families and providers and small business assistance programs. With a focus on building individuals, families, and our community, our initiatives are tailored to address diverse needs, fostering lasting positive change.
